About the event
Eugenio Boer, born in 1978, is known and appreciated for his eclectic style, the result of cosmopolitanism: born in Holland, to a Dutch father and a Sicilian-Ligurian mother, he spent his early years in Holland until the famly recolacted to Italy.
Even from a young age, Eugenio was determined to turn his passion for cooking into a career and already at twelve he took a job in a friend's restaurant while still . After working for some of Italy’s greatest chefs including Gaetano Trovato, Alberto Rizzi, Norbert Niederkofler and Filippo Saporito, Eugenio moved to more international experiences.
In 2011 he returned to Italy, to Milan, opening diffrent projects and in 2015 came Essenza. A restaurant based on a deeply personal vision whose name translated as ‘essence’ but also as ‘honesty’ that received a Michelin star in 2017.
After leving Essenza, Eugenio did open Bu:r where today, together with wife Carlotta Perilli, they are focusing on Italianness: "In these post-pandemic times it is more necessary than ever to revive the fortunes of the Made-in-Italy".
Hence, a citizen of the world like Boer, who has made contaminations a distinctive signature of his cooking philosophy, consciously chose to return to the field with a 100% Italian menu, made entirely with local products, intending to pay homage to some of the great traditional recipes and, at the same time, help small producers."
